News from Nowhere

“News from Nowhere” is the second solo exhibition showcases a series of new artworks by the Swiss artist Mai-Thu Perret. The title of the exhibition comes from a British polymath and socialist activist, William Morris’s novel of the same name that is published in 1890. The author imagines a utopian future in the book, out of the capitalist system. In this exhibition, showcasing her artistic output as the ‘hypothetical production’ of members of the commune. Evolving across installation, performance, sculpture, ceramics and textiles, her continually expanding fiction also encompasses a range of twentieth-century avant-garde and radical art movements.
