Bob Law: Idea, Energies, Transmutation

Idea, Energies, Transmutations is an exhibition of work by the British conceptual artist Bob Law, which opens with a selection of “Field Cartography” produced in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In the scenery near the home of St. Ives, he created a series of works linking his body with the elements of the natural world, creating: “an environment map, thought, energy, and change argument.” Through this Illustrating the process, the law pursues ecstatic communion with the earth, and in some of the drawings, pornography is expressed frankly. The skewed frame of the work first appeared in “Field Painting”, which shows that even the artist’s more abstract works have received countless accusations.
