George Perry Floyd Jr., an African-American, was arrested after a store clerk claimed that he had passed a counterfeit $20 bill in Minneapolis. A white police officer named Derek Chauvin knelt on Freud’s neck. It was initially reported to be 8 minutes and 46 seconds. After his death, protests against police brutality against blacks spread rapidly. All over the United States and internationally.
We stand with those who demand justice and demand that George Floyd and countless people in the black community have suffered for too long in the hands of a complacent America.
Australia based artist Eddie Botha through this work as a friendly starting point for discussing the continuing movement for racial justice, then, reflect on your own experience of the racist and think about what it looks like. Questioning about should we be silent?
Hope we will work for a world where black life is no longer systematically targeted.
