Michelangelo Pistoletto

Michelangelo Pistoletto is a major exhibition of works by the renowned Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, which has multiple devices to guide the viewer through one of them from the post-war period to the present, the most influential and long-lasting artistic practice has been revealed. Over the past sixty years, these themes have resonated with the themes that make the artistโ€™s work alive: perception, time, history, tradition, and the relationship between art, artist and audience.

The exhibition will be welcomed by paired inspired installations during the Venice Biennale, Pistorieto was included in the โ€œOne and One Makes Threeโ€ in the 2017 retrospective at the Basilica di San Giorgio Maggiore. The grouping uses mirrors signed by the artist, including Pistolettoโ€™s historic Viceversa, and the most recent โ€œColour and Light (2016-17)โ€. Together, these works create a dynamic, constantly changing environment and dramatize the contrast between the fixedness of the past and the ever-changing nature of the present.
