Grace Weaver: Steps

Steps is a body of new paintings in Tribeca and a selection of the artistโ€™s drawings in the Lower East Side, New York, USA by the American artist Grace Weaver, which in the tragic daily life description, she examines the social and cultural conditions on which her self-concept, intimacy and personal experience are based. The artistโ€™s new work depicts stiff figures who crash into the corner of the street and fall down, giving them a keen and compassionate look at the expressiveness of contemporary peopleโ€™s self-consciousness and precarious footsteps. In her works, the body itself becomes a kind of scene: playful lines and dense planes of luminous colors act as language elements, each of which controls its own weight and affects her female objects.
