Leonard Knight – Salvation Mountain

In 1984, the 53-year-old American artist Leonard Knight (1931 -2014) began the first Salvation Mountain using highly unstable construction methods that allowed the mountain to collapse, the current Salvation Mountain (the one in the picture) is actually the second construction to occupy the site. Knight was not discouraged because he determined the mindset to achieve what his goal is, rather saw it as God’s way of letting him know what the Mountain was not safe.
